A contract expiration date isn’t always the date that requires action. For instance, when a contract expires in 90 days but the right to terminate expires in 30. That difference can determine whether an organization has time to renegotiate, change suppliers, or end the agreement before another term begins.
Expiration dates tend to get the attention. They are easy to understand and easy to place on a calendar. Yet many contracts require notice well before the agreement ends. By the time the End of Term date arrives, the available options may already have narrowed.
Act while there is still time
Contracts 365 can use the Notice Period recorded on a contract to notify the contract manager in advance of an expiration or renewal date. For example, a fixed-term contract can generate a notification a defined number of days before its expiration. Auto-renewing agreements can follow a similar process before the renewal date
The timing reflects the terms of the agreement rather than relying on a generic calendar reminder. When the Notice Period is captured as structured contract data, the notification can arrive when the organization still has time to review performance, consider its options, and take the required action.
Contracts 365 can also support different notification behavior for fixed-term, auto-renewing, and perpetual agreements. That distinction matters because the same date does not serve the same purpose in every contract
Keep important dates connected
A reminder only helps when it reflects the agreement behind it. Contracts 365 keeps the Notice Period and End of Term date connected to the contract record, giving the contract manager a clearer view of the deadline and the agreement it governs.
This reduces dependence on personal calendars, spreadsheets, and institutional memory. The relevant dates remain part of the managed contract process, where they can support consistent notifications and timely review.
Sometimes the date before the date is the one that costs you.
Notice Period-Driven Reminders help contract managers act while the organization still has choices.
