Job Details

We’re looking for a Part-time Office Manager (15-20 hours per week, Monday – Wednesday while we’re onsite) for our downtown Newburyport offices. You’ll assist with AR/AP, light HR work, and help keep the office humming. Must be computer savvy, well-written, well-spoken, and have a great “can do” attitude.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle a variety of administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, technology environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform light bookkeeping duties, including entering transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating basic financial reports in QuickBooks.
  • Assist with HR-related administrative tasks, such as onboarding paperwork, employee record keeping, and benefits coordination.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and paper filing systems.
  • Support general office functions, including ordering supplies, managing mail, and coordinating vendor communications.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and company events.
  • Provide other administrative and operational support as requested.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with QuickBooks (required)
  • 2+ years of office administration or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of HR processes and record keeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: 15–20 hours per week (schedule can be flexible within our Monday – Wednesday business hours, 8:30AM - 5:30PM).
  • Competitive hourly rate between $35 to $45 based on experience.
